How it Started

Once upon a time, we lived in a world where if we physically lost something such as a document, it was gone forever. This was not only frustrating, an emotional loss, but often a financial loss. No longer. The world has evolved in exciting and dramatic ways, pushing us to become more of a digital society. This has huge implications on how we learn, work, and play - with impacts across all aspects of our lives. We noticed people losing time, money, and information due to fires, floods, thefts, and other natural disasters. We noticed that people were so busy with the day-to-day operations of their lives - they often overlooked simple yet important tasks such as renewing a drivers license, car registration or passport on time. They were not aware a premium payment was due for one of 15 types of insurance. Some were trying to help with parents estate planning to keep track of important financial assets, but did not have a secure and easy way to make this happen. Others were trying to collaborate on the purchase of a home with multiple-parties, and did not have a good method for this either. There were generic solutions in the market, but nothing with the well-defined organization and storage for documents, nor the level of control and security needed to manage groups and individual sharing, and before LifeCellar, forget about having smart reminders and alerts - there was just simply nothing available in the market.

LifeCellar was founded in 2010 by Stephen Bulfer and Armando Gonzalez to bring peace-of-mind to consumers on managing their most important documents. LifeCellar headquarters is located in San Francisco, CA.
